On March 5 a fire broke out on the third floor of Wilson Hall at approximately 4:15 a.m.
Five fire safety trucks were sent onto the scene with nearly 20 firefighters working to extinguish the flames and remove the smoke.
Captain Mark Johnson of the Flagstaff Fire Department said the units gave a standard response to the assignment, one that was called into the 911 center.

The four challengers running against current Flagstaff mayor Joe Donaldson met at Gardner Auditorium in the W.A. Franke College of Business on March 4 to debate about issues relating to NAU students.

Despite being a long-standing project, NAU’s offer to faculty, students, and staff to boost student recruiting and retention with grant money from the school has only recently come into notice, in a time where budget cuts are a hot topic.

With summer quickly approaching, prices for gasoline are reaching record highs.
According to AAA Oil Price Information Services, on Monday the average price for a gallon of gas across the nation was $3.16, just below the record $3.18 set last May. San Francisco saw the highest national average last week at $3.58.
With gas prices reaching record highs, students are rethinking traveling plans for the vacation season.

ASNAU’s executive debate was held on March 5 in the Cline Auditorium. Presidential candidates Chris Mundon, Dereck Omo and Colt Fulk voiced their opinions during seven rounds of questions. Current ASNAU president Tom Wahl conducted the debate.
The opening question asked candidates to voice their opinions on what they felt was the most pressing issue for students at NAU.

NAU is now home to one of the three greenest buildings around the world, with the Applied Research and Development building located on North Campus just receiving a platinum ranking.
